Replace rubber stem tire valves with metal stem tire valves?
I have an older BMW with the older rubber stem tire valves. My newer RX has the TMPS system, which uses metal stems for the tire valves. Does anyone know if one can fit metal stem valves instead of the rubber ones to the cars that have rubber stem valves? [I don't want to change over to the TMPS system, I just want to change the stem because the metal stems make checking the tire pressure a lot easier. For some reason, the German cars I have owned have their valves so situated that it is difficult to make the gauge 'take' the pressure correctly].
Thanks!
Accessory question (pun intended) -> In the event one can replace the stems, where does one buy them?

You will not have any issues. Most valve stems are approximately the same diameter despite being metal or rubber. Though most "metal" stems are actually just a thin metal covering over the rubber.
If you did need a new stem, go to your local tire shop and pick one up. Very rarely do you have car specific stems (some Ferrari's, Buggatti, and Formula 1 vehicles I know have unique stems).

You can put metal valve stems on most any wheel package you choose. They can be purchased at your local auto parts store.

To both of you - thank you very much. I'll go buy some, once I know the diameter of the hole in the wheel of the BMW. I had wondered whether the fit would be OK, but you reassured me.
