Oh yeah, the first couple of coats or so need to be light.
I remember the first time I used PD (about 2.5 years ago) I went too heavy and too far away and ended up with a suede like finish. Lots of trial and error, but I've got it down now!

Also, when I added the screws for the lip, it was when I had the bumper off so i wouldn't accidentally puncture a headlight washer supply line.
It wouldn't have mattered, as I've never used the headlight washers!

Mine just run automatically when the headlights are on, so I kinda only remember they are there when I see splash off the headlight LOL.
Tried some tape but alas the point where the lip would attach to the bumper is quite a thin area. I edited this part, and think I have a solution to my issue. Unfortunately it does mean drilling but not into any part of the car itself. I think I might be drilling 4 or maybe 8 (depending on how this works out) into the bottom part of the lip up the back so that it can't be seen. The thoughts are basically 4 braces making use of the existing screws that is part of the under car cover. Basically a vertical metal bracket with 2 90 degree bends on them in opposite direction to hold it in place. Seems about the only way of doing this without having to resort to silicon (and just silicon) to hold it in place. Off to the hardware store after work tomorrow.

Draco, you should do the washer cancel mod I posted. Then your pretty new headlights won't get dirty when you wash the windshield. The headlight washer will only work with the headlight washer button. Also, I didn't post this in the thread, but you can also clip the purple wire that leads to the washer pump to get the same result.

Fixed the gap. I looked for other solutions to the problem, but at the end of the day it was bolt with some nuts to fix it in place so it wouldn't (1) move and (2) close the gap. I did end up using 50mm 3/16 bolts with nylon nuts to keep it there permanently. Now I am not so concerned with travelling and something letting go. Ended up using 2 bolts to close the gap on each side. You can't see it in the picture but at the opening there are top bolts on top that hold it to the front bumper (bumper was a lot easier than I thought it was to drill - so soft).
Also decided to throw some mesh in the lower air vents just to break up the black a bit. Also my paint design for the headlights worked out well. Look it looks like a halo
Now I will wash the car (desperate need) but only once the rain has stopped.

Some ***** of **** made a few deep scratches in my rear bumper yesterday night... Gotta look into that paint chip fixes now...
Other than that, picked up my car two days ago after the following maintenance was performed:
Timing belt
Water pump
Idler pulley
Gaskets
Drive belts
Spark plugs
Power steering fluid
Brake fluid
Happy to have it back and wife said we are to keep it for a few more years.

I have only had my RX for a couple of months has 120000 miles. I thought it road pretty good until I put new struts all the way around . wow what a difference . drives tighter over bumps ,much more control at highway speeds . Definitely worth the time and money . I did the install myself saves a ton of money . I used Monroe struts .
