Without a doubt get the 2009 RX350. These are some reasons that I can think of at the moment:
It will still have the factory warranty in effect. It has More Horse power. It uses a timing chain instead of a belt, so no costly belt replacement is required. It uses World Standard transmission fluid that doesn't need service until 100,000 miles. It Has the improved Generation 5 Navigation System w/bluetooth built in. It can play mp3 discs and the 06' can't.

I just noticed you said basic model. Scratch the Generation 5 Navigation and Bluetooth. That is an option ($$$) All the above started with the RX2007 model year. You might want to expand your search to include the 2007 - 09 model years. Good Luck.
