Default ipod kit

I have a 2004 rx330 without Navi. I am in the market for a ipod interface kit for the rx.... the more i look the more i get confused.. I checked out dice electronics, i also looked at vais technologies and a few others.

I wanted to see what some of you guy/gals have bought.... and how easy was it to install.

I have the same vehicle and stereo. I went with the Vaistech for my RX. I have Dice in my IS with nav. Both are great units. Follow the DIY on CL and install only took an hour. Very easy with plug and play. I ran the cord to the glovebox so the iPod stays hidden.

Thanks guys. I'll look into them.
I would put it in the glove box as well since there isn't anywhere else you can really put it where you can hide it when needed.

The center console works too for hiding the iPod. I had the VAIS Soundlinq and the installer ran the line into the console of my '04. I bought the original Dension (aka Dice) unit but it never worked. It's collecting dust somewhere.

Also look into the GTA kit as it's easy to install. I don't have any experience with it so YMMV.

Yea no matter what kit you buy, the hardest part of the install are the 2 hidden 10mm screws on the head unit. I used a 6" extension and backed the screw out a few turns. Then I used an expandable magnetic tool to remove the screws so they wouldn't drop into the land of no return. Everything else was a breeze.

Are most people running the wires into the glove box or down to the tray below the shift ****?

Glove box is easy to do if you put whatever iPod unit you install in that void space under the shifter. And it's out of sight.

Default Just installed the GTA Car Kit!

Hi. I just want to give a big thanks out to "veleno" that shared the video from GTAcarkits.com. That video gave me the confidence to order and install this. I ordered it on Monday, received it today and just installed it. Work great!

I decided not to mount it in the glovebox in case my iphone rings. Instead I decided to run the ipod cable out at the bottom of the shifter. I attached a picture. The cable just reaches my cup holder phone mount, with a tad to spare.

Default iSimple

iSimple makes one that works if your radio has AM/SAT button. Multiple modes and two inputs, charges iPhone as well

No problems with mine so far. I did have it updated for iOS 4.x

If it lags I have never noticed.

I was looking at iSimple as well. But if you read some of the reviews at Best Buy, there are complaints that the interface is too slow - like a 3-4 sec lag. Plus, iSimple is $180 and this one only cost me $114.
