I here ya man. My 2005 gets about 14 miles average in town. Highway is about 22. I hope it's just winter causing the poor gas mileage here in Iowa. I traded a new Honda CRV for the Lexus. Honda got 21 in town and 27 on highway. But I don't care. The comfort and drive of the Lexus outweighs the diff. In gas mileage. If I wanted a car good on gas I would have purchased a skateboard. The new Lexus hybrid CT200's look sweet, and the price is right. 43 in town and 41 on highway, but it's small and the backseats are tight just like the IS250.

I'm pretty sure that during the winter months, most gas companies use a "Winter" Blend of gas. Which is commonly known to make your gas mileage go down.
I think its the addition of extra Methanol to prevent the gas from freezing
But I hear you, my wife's gas mileage around town in winter is about 14-15 MPG

A. Vehicle takes longer to heat up and therefore runs richer until it reaches operating temperatures.
B. Defrosters and such are run more which will cause parasitic drain on the engine affecting gas mileage.

89 with 16-18 mpg city and 22-23 mpg highway. Cleaned MAF, K&N air filter, Mobil 1 EP oil & K&N oil filter, & trans fluid recently drained and filled.

I have 120,000 miles on mine, and I average around 21-22 miles per gallon with combined city and highway driving. I always put 91 in mine. I do have a flowmaster exhaust, and customized air intake. I use to actually average about 23-24 when I had the K&N drop filter. So I might actually get rid of my air intake and put back the K&N.

I would recommend adding a can of BG44 (once) - can be purchased on eBay for around $20, and adding 6oz of Lucas gas treatment every time you fill up ( can be bought at Autozone for $10.99 for a 32oz can). This will improve your gas mileage, clean your engine and make your car run even smoother.
