Rx350 Service Campaign 9LH
I received some websites referencing this campaign, but no official documentation by Toyota. My lexus is a 2009 Rx 350 and my concern is the problem with the 2GR-FE (v6) engines that can cause catastrophic damage to the engine.
Comment received:
The rubber portion of the oil supply hose for the VVT-i actuator may degrade over time. The condition can cause oil to leak from the VVT-i hose producing abnormal engine noise and the oil pressure light to illuminate. If not caught immediately the result is total engine failure. Affects Lexus 2007 - 2009 vehicles among other Toyota Models. They replaced with a newly designed hard rubber hose. Starting with the 2010 model year they started using metal supply lines.
Lexus of Clearwater is denying this campain and refuses to replace the hose.
If I have it done myself any thoughts on where to take it and how much it will cost??

Just wait for the Lexus announcement. Toyota-Lexus is very keen on issues because of their situation. You need to wait. You have a new and completely warranted car. If I were you do not sweat it.

It's my understanding that not all 2009 vehicles will need this done. Lexus started using the newly designed hose in some 2009 models. You need to register your vehicle at the "My Lexus" website. They have a link to recall and service campaigns. If your vehicle is affected by this campaign it will be listed there.

my car had this hose fail on me, dumped all 5 qts of oil on the road as i was driving home, and the remaining qt in my garage floor. get this fixed ASAP. i have an 07 though, and received the "limited service campaign" flyer the day this happened, go figure!

I agree with Rainbird. Register with My Lexus. I purchased my 2007 at LOC and they had replaced the hose prior to my purchase. If your hose is shown to be faulty, I'm sure they will replace it.

I had this done at my local dealer for no charge. I have a 2008 RX350 I found out about it after I registerd my vehicle/VIN at the lexus owner's site. https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home.
Under the maintenance history, it now shows: 9LH REPLACE OIL COOLER HOSE FOR RX 350.

Best bet register with Lexus.com owners. Your VIN will be in the system and you will be alerted if your unit needs work.

Come to find out, I missed the entry on service on my lexus site done on 6-14-2010 with 34,000 miles before I purchased it under CPO. Stated 9LH as the service and they are sending me a copy of the repair bill. On my 07 RX350.

2008 RX 350 Engine Failure - HELP!!!
I have a 2008 Lexus RX 350 with just over 75,000 miles (out of warranty). I had to have my car towed and I still don't know what happened. I was told by the local dealership that I have engine trouble and may need a new engine. I have found this website and just finished reading all of the posts about this oil hose recall. I never recevied any information about this recall. Now I am worried that my car is out of warranty and the problems could be related to this oil hose needing replaced. What should I do?? Am I going ot be responsible for replacing the engine if the hose was the problem???

Max, I'm surprised that Lexus of Clearwater is denying knowing anything about this. I received this notice for my 2007 RX over a year ago and had it taken care of at Lexus of Tampa Bay. You might want to call Lexus of Tampa Bay about this. They took care of it for me. Good Luck!
