I have a 2004 Lexus RX330.
Got a new key (transponder was broken on my original).
I still have a working master key and trying to program the new key to turn the ignition.

I was able to program it to remote lock/unlock the doors - using the door open/close procedure. This worked on first try. However, I cannot program it to turn the motor on (ie. immobilizer).

I found several "pedal dance" procedures on the internet and tried them all but they do not work. The car doesn't seem to go into programming mode since the security light starts flashing as soon as I take the master key out of the ignition. My understanding is that if the car is successfully in programming mode, the security light will stay off when the master key is removed... It should start flashing after I enter the new key and press the accelerator pedal, which indicates that the key is being programmed. I was never able to get to that point. Maybe I am missing some crucial step or something?

I searched all over the web and could not find any definitive answer.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

This is my issue now.

Stealer hip only had a valet key, we took the car home (better half wanted it home ASAP) so the dealer got us a new master key, and we now need to program it, we only have a working valet key and a new master key that is not programed. It will cost $248 at the stealership since we only have a valet and not another master that is working.

So is there anyway to program this key for doors/ignition and whatever else power hatch.

I was wondering if you ever found a solution to your problem. My father in law has a 2004 RX330 and I am helping him out to program a new key, but I am on the same boat as you were. I was able to program the remote but not the transponder.
Any help would be appreciated.
