The KeyMaker worked for my 2004 RX330. I am fairly sure it will work for the 06RX400H as well. Hope it helps.

Thanks, guess I'll give it a shot. I own an ES as well so this should save me a lot of money to have a couple of extra keys.

So I got my Toyota Smart Keymaker in the mail today. I was able to program my key and immobilizer for my 2005 RX330. Total cost was $119. $67 for key (Ebay user: midwestkeyless), $32 for Smart Keymaker (ebay user:accmonster ), and $20 to have the key cut at Lexus of Bellevue.

Here's what I did:
1) Buy Key/Transponder
2) Buy Toyota Smart Keymaker
3) Have key cut by dealer or locksmith
4) Program the keyless entry by:

5) Now to use the Smart Keymaker, just disregard all the engrish instructions you see online, it's pretty straight forward plug and play.

Put original MASTER key into ignition, plug in the Smart Keymaker to the OBDII port under the steering wheel, Turn ignition to ON, Don't crank. Wait a few seconds you will hear a bunch of Beeps and then a LONG beep that last for a few seconds. After that, turn the ignition to off and remove the MASTER key. Stick in the NEW key and turn to ON, just wait a few seconds. It should have programmed and you should be able to crank the engine on after that. At least that's how it worked for me.

- Good luck all
I just need some clarification from the instructions above. Do I need to do all 5 steps? I thought if I have a key maker device, I can just do step 5. Steps 1-4 are for people without the keymaker?

Is there any way to get the part number on the Toyota Smart Key that works on the 2005 Lexus RX330? The original seller appears long gone and there are 2 Smart Keys with the black button on the bottom (versus the orange button in the middle bottom). The two mfg part numbers I find are 351118 & 800203. I would really like to know which one is the right one since it seems they are not interchangeable.

Thanks in advance,
Bob Stokesbary

To clarify, I did all the steps in the first post with the Toyota Smartkey maker as the last part. Everything worked as mentioned (cycling of door locks, beeps, etc.).

I do not recommend doing this for a 2005 RX330. My security system is now screwed up and has to be reset (solid red light with key out - flashing while car is running; should be flashing when car is off and no light while running) by the dealer. The new key door lock and unlock buttons work, but the new key will not start the car.

Find a lock smith who can program the remote for you...

The prices listed in the original post seem off. $300 for a key and program??! I bought my key from Sewell for $170 and that included the cutting. Then I took the key to Lexus of Portland and they programmed it for $60. So the total for my new key was $230, only $60 dollars more than what the OP paid for everything on Ebay. I would rather pay the $60 dollars instead of having to search for the products, order them, find a separate place to cut the key, and then risk screwing up the security system with some cheap programmer from Ebay. Seems like a lot of work to save $60 bucks. Just saying.

Everything else on the internet failed (including the procedure posted above), but this procedure worked for me on my 2006 RX330:

Hopefully this helps someone else.

I purchased 4 blank keys to have cut and programmed for my wifes RX330. Lexus of Seattle would not cut and program somebody elses keys.
They wanted $290. for 1 key, what a ripoff. 4 years ago I had it done there for $50. for 3 keys total but now Lexus of Bellvue would cut and program
for $200 per hour and said it would take about 2 hour, another ripoff. I ended up buying a key cutting machine for $138. and cut my four keys and they came out great.
I ordered a universal car key clamp where I will be able to cut regular cars and door keys.

Thanks Pat

Thanks for the instruction. I was able to program the key .. However, I ran into issue in which the remote starter has stopped working.
That remote starter has been working fine since I bought it and installed (by BestBuy) in 2015. Any recommendation?

Does anyone know where the "Valet button" is located on RX330 (2005) ?
