Broken Key Case on 2004RX
I broke the case on my key. If I hold it together all the buttons still work. Can one buy just the case and is this a DIY type of fix?

No, I don't play soccer!
How well you do get along with your dealer? They replaced my broken case last year, no charge, about six months before I traded in the '04. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Ebay has plenty of them.

If it is the cover, just visit your dealer parts and they may be able to give you one from the cannibalized tray. For the other you will need to buy a Key (ebay or dealer or web)

Both sides broke. It broke off right where the little screw holds it together. I took it apart and see that the key is sort'a molded in the plastic. Guess I'll have to order one on e-bay and have a locksmith cut the key.

JoeInHNL, went ahead and bookmarked that seller in eBay... just in case. Thanks.

I just bought keys from this guy:

2 for $40 including shipping. Got them in a few days. Look good, work fine.

$40 for 2, $20 a piece with cutting is reasonable. Actual cost to mold the key, $ 2.00 tops. But with it pre-cut, can not beat it!
This is a good investment.

If you want extra keys, you will need to also purchase the internals as well from another source.

I lost a master key and bought a replacement one from Sewell, I gave them the vin so they could cut the key. The key arrived today and it is not cut correctly, it doesn't fit into the ignition. I am in the process of returning it to Sewell. Has this ever happened to anyone else. The car has never had a lock cylinder change. I was planning on going to go to my local dealer for the programming, they said they would charge $65.
