Smile Update!!

Ok,For those of you that have been following this. I finally got my RX back from the dealer for the transmission shift feel TSB. They had it so long because it wasnt doing it for them. Then on the last day...WA-LA!! it did it for them! They had the car`s ECM connected via to Toyota`s database some how,and when it happened,Toyota gave them the green light to re-flash the computer! And I must say, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! no more 1st to 2nd delay. Much better off the line performance now, which is desperatly needed around here. I enjoy driving it much more now than before. I just hope this change doesnt wear off or anything (I doubt that will happen) but I have some Bizzare luck at times. So far,I`m very pleased!

Is this TSB for all years? we just bought an 08 rx350 and i notice a slight jerking feeling when its changing gears, its not crazy but when i give it a little gas its more pronounced. I called lexus and the only recall outstanding is some oil hose.

As far as I know, it`s only for 04-05`s. You may want to let your dealer check it out, if you have trouble later,at least it`s documented.

That's great news.

I can't understand, though, why they wouldn't just flash the ECM if that's the solution to this problem, without keeping it till they duplicated the problem. It seems like an easy fix, not involving any mechanical work aside from hooking the computer up to the OBDII port. If it's a known and common problem and the customer is complaining of that problem, just flash and send the customer home happy.

Well,my service writer did tell me that the service manager was going to do it any way. They just need to cover their butt`s,so they get paid.

You also need to have a good dealership who will work with you on such problems. Thompson Lexus is one of the better ones.
