TripleDES - Right, it's about 30%. I am not a big fan of front tinted windows in SUV or minivan especially we only get 1 or 2 month of summer weather, perhaps few days of 90+ degrees here. It was my wife's choice to have them tinted. But I will be happy if car manufacturers can do 15% or 20% in the front windows.

So I will probably get pull over there?

I don't think you'd get pulled over since you have MA plates. Funny, the wife is the reason I'm tinting them as well!!

TripleDES - Off topic question. How many Louis Vutton handbags your wife currently owns?

The answer is zero!! I have to put my foot down once in a while. I just get an evil stare when the subject comes up.

TripleDES, could you edit your original post so it says front side windows, not front windshield? In your case, the glass itself is tinted, so you won't be able to remove it. I read that it's equivalent to 25% smoke, so you'd want to get that (or however low as the law in your state allows) to make them match.

It won't let me edit the title....a moderator would need to change it for me. It never said "windshield" although my post title may be ambigous.

We're in the same state unless your location is off. Applied film must allow 70% of light to pass...I have no idea how one would measure this without a lab. But anyway, qualified tinters must give you a cert to carry around in case you get pulled over.

This is just a guess, but I think the factory rear window tint wouldn't be legal for the front side windows. I guess I will find out tomorrow.

Done

Well, I tried. I could only change the heading once you open the topic, but it didn't seem to change the main title.

PS. I finially was about to edit the main title. Should be good now.

Default My RX350 with tinted front windows

It's about the same as the rear windows. I have the top of the windshield tinted too. Pics arrive later.

Cool

Awesome tints...

what is the percent tint?

Also they just put it on top of the original glass right?

And how much was it?

Very nice! You matched the rear tint. I decided to go with a lighter shade for the front since CA seem to be more restrictive.

About 35% which is legal in Massachusetts. Everything is done right. Believe it or not. It was my wife idea for tinted windows. I forgot the price. Will ask and possible take more pics.

Nice!

Looking at the building behind .. Did some one forget to take the Xmas lighting off, or getting an early jump start?

That's my house. I have been working busy around the house. No time to take them down. Well, guess I don't need to climb the ladder this year. Need some house painting too!
