We are in the process of purchasing a 07 rx400h. It does NOT have the Mark Levinson stereo. Will the 6 disc changer accept and play mp3 cds?

Yes indeed. Our 07 rx400h (with nav, without ML) plays them just fine. It does not seem to be picky about the brand of cd-r's. It also does not care if the files are all in the root, or organized into folders. In the latter case, you can skip from folder to folder. I haven't tried nested folders, though. The text display of the file names isn't very good, though. Not enough characters in the display.

both my 07s can play mp3s....

On mine (which as I previously said, plays mp3's without problems), on the faceplate containing the cd slot, it says "WMA" at the left and "MP3" at the right. I've never tried .wma files, though.
