Wot a revoltin' development this is!
When you input destinations into the Navigation System there is a selection to use all available freeways and toll roads. If you don't select this option the system will try to exit you through every town and back road on the way. Remember the navigation system will always try to send you the shortest distance even if it's a road with 20 stoplights.

Default 2008 RX 350 Nav Update

I have a 2008 RX 350 and just upgraded my navigation system to 13.1. The included picture shows my new startup screen - no more having to push the "I Accept" button every time I start the car. This screen comes up for about 10 seconds and then goes directly to the map. Woohoo! I'm free!!

Where did you get the 13.1?

I got it online from North Miami Lexus for $150. Best price I could find for the 13.1 and I knew it would work if it came from a Lexus dealer. Also knew they would stand behind it if something went wrong.

Heh. I've been eyeing that update from them as well. Saw it on ebay.

The one I got wasn't the West Coast addition but that's who I got it from. Best price I found and very fast shipping included. I felt more comfortable buying from a dealer than possibly getting a cheap copy from someone else that didn't work like it should

Thanks loads to all the contributors. I got mine loaded and saved having to pay the dealer to do it.
My 2008 RX has the slide above the left end of the slot. I choose a flashlight and mirror rather than try to stand on my head to see it. I did have to take the luggage screen out of its clips to get far enough in.
Once the disk is in, and the slide back in the right/closed position, it self loads.

I finally bit the bullet today and bought the version 13 update for my 2004 RX330 (Gen2/3). I had tried to buy a cheaper copy (and I emphasize the word "copy") from a less-than-reputable dealer. Never got anything and ended up having to file a PayPal dispute to get my money back.

Picked it up on eBay from Miami Lexus. They left feedback immediately, which is usually appreciated. But in this case, the feedback was, "WHERE YOUR LEXUS & TOYOTA PARTS DEALERSHIP 4 ALL UR NEEDS". Heh. I feel like I should be charging them for advertising space

Not expecting big changes since the nav system itself is so old, but it'll be nicer to have a DVD newer than 2003.

Default Thank you!

Far and away, the best and most helpful instructions for updating the NAV system on the Lexus400h. We purchased an upgrade on eBay that came with some very vague instructions— nothing said anything about a hidden compartment in the back of the car. We would have never figured it out! The YouTube videos online were worthless... but your instructions were spot on! Thanks again!

Hi. I ordered off eBay this past December for only $14.99. I wasn’t sure it was going to work, especially since I had seen other “upgrades” going for hundreds of dollars! But this worked perfectly! We live in a newer part of town, and it was very cool seeing our street show up! I’ll be happy to send you the link?
