Clunking Noise In Reverse
....so i found the source of a clunking sound in my RX350, which occurs mainly in reverse going down driveways while turning right.
FYI:The clunking noise sounds like it's coming from the upper dash area.
After suspecting upper strut mounts, ball joints, steering column and many other things that can cause similar clunks, I found out that the clunking was coming from the windshield wiper assembly mounts(of all things).
To access them, you'll need to remove the wiper blades than the plastic front cowl. Tighten all the wiper assembly 10mm head bolts with the rubber cushions on them....take the time to confirm everything else is tight under the cowl. (Strut mount bolts, the other 10mm bolts and nuts etc)
Took me forever to find this clunk, so I hope this discovery helps someone.
Note: The RX330, Highlander, ES350 and possible other Lexus and Toyota models may also have the same issue
