Curious who would pay $55 for a cabin filter. Maybe I can do some odd jobs for them.

There are close to 1,000,000 RX's out there in the USA alone. There are 114,682 members on this site for ALL Lexus vehicles. There are just as many if not probably a lot more who are going to pay whatever the dealer tells them to do as opposed to those who come to these boards for advice. This is how Lexus and Toyota make a profit.

To each their own...

I'm retired now. It's a shame they don't all live near me. I would be happy to install them for say, $25 each.

I hear ya... I guess that is why there are so many independent shops around. If I was super mechanically inclined I would consider opening a shop myself. I do enjoy working on and learning about my vehicles and knowing that the jobs are getting done right and with care; also if I screw up I have no one to blame but myself!

Default I just installed one of these

http://www.wixfilters.com/productinf...irfilters.html

Quality was good plus it has charcoal and the bio treatment, and only about $7 or $8.
