Default 08 Rx 350 without roof bars

I was working on my roof rack this morning so I decided to take pics. Looks good, but the antena looks out of place.

with the antenna down.

looks good to me; I did this on my '04 and it's the only way to roll unless you regularly carry a canoe or something. You will enjoy washing the car a LOT more now.

Default Rack

Or you could just remove the whole rack.

ck this link. I took the roof rack off my wife's RX 350 a few months ago. Taste vary but I think these cars look better w/o the rack.

Just for clarity, that was not my "how to" post. I merely followed the instructions in that post to remove the roof rack from my wife's car. I don't want credit for a great post I didn't write.

Without the wand, will we get clear reception?

I was wondering if we can just replace the whole base with another antenna - maybe a shark fin.

Hi KeysRx300,

Very tidy car, may I ask what side steps you have on your RX?

Did you remove the original skirting to install the side steps?

Thanks.

Wow that looks pretty nice without the roof bars. I always wondered if they were an option or just standard with the car and if you could remove them.

If you decide to remove the rack be sure to buy a proper kit to make the roof water tight. The CL vendor Sewell sells one that works really well. More info here:

Technically, it was an option. However, they all came with it with the exception of those few with the panoramic sunroof.

There is a removal kit available from Sewell or you can purchase the panoramic gutter rails.
