Looking at 07 RX350 need advice
Hey all, I'm a brand new member here so if this is the wrong place to post this I apologize in advance.
I am looking at purchasing a 2007 RX350 tomorrow. The vehicle has low miles (33k) and seems to be in excellent condition with new tires and a navigation package. I am meeting again with the owner tomorrow and we'll be going to the Lexus dealership to have the car serviced for it's routined maintenance as well I want to have a complete inspection done. The only issue I see is that the dash is completely cracked and faded and looks as if its 20 years old. The owner told me he had a replacement priced at $600 installed (non dealer). Other than that I seen no issues.
My question is there anything I need to look for with this particular model? What are the problem/expensives areas if any? What type of inspection should I request from the dealership? I prefer to have a thorough inspection completed and don't want any surprises. Much appreciated.

I have a 2009 RX350, had 53,000 miles but one owner in awesome condition.. wonder why the dash was cracked..this is the only thing that would concern me..did he hit sometime inside..or was it just out in the sun...would go to ask for complete check over..also get car fax for sure..just some thoughts hope this helps..I got mine at Sewell Lexus in Texas..if anyone needs a reputable car guy see Anthony Albino, mine was a certified Lexus and am very happy with the purchase there..I saved quite a bit there and like it was a Certified car..that to me took any headaches out..especially after my parents had both passed away, I wanted a reliable car with no headaches..it was the best purchase I made..great car..tell him Theresa Stewart sent you if you look..he is a great sales person..even when buying out of state. Oh..by the way..people come to that dealership from around the World from what I hear..

The owner stated that the cracked dash is a factory defect. I googled it when I got home and he seems to be right, I read something about some 04-09' models having dash crack issues. The rest of the car is immaculate, the interior almost looks new. It's really strange! I popped the hood and looked around for any damage from an accident and didn't see any. He's the second owner, the first owner was the wife of a Lexus manager/owner so I expect it to be in top shape. Reason for selling is he's having another baby and they bought a 2011 Land Cruiser so wants to keep the bigger car. I think for the price of $17k for 33k is not a bad deal, he was asking $19k.

Any used vehicle purchase should be inspected by a qualified individual who knows what to look for regarding any trouble areas. There are companies which do this type of work or you can see about taking the vehicle to a shop for an inspection. Paying a few dollars up front might save you some major headaches down the road.
