I do like the setup and use of space.

On the rust (I've got it too on my RX300), Use some high-temp paint on the exhaust, that's what I do on mine every so often.

You should post this question in the third generation RX Forum. I would bet that someone on that forum as installed one.

I love the sound and the much improved performance

25 % milage improvement ? really ? more than once , real data ? you are suggesting that lesus could improve their gas milage 25 % with an exhaust change and they don't do it...

really ?

Yes, my mileage did improve drastically and it has been that way for well over three years. Over the weekend travelled 1200 km's on 2 tanks of gas- all highway

have you done actual L/km or miles per gallon calculations ?

so you are saying that you picked up 5 or 6 more miles per gallon with this change ? ( based on published numbers )

in a world of fuel economy engineering at the manufacturers, they would and do often spend MILLIONS to work out ways to up their numbers... why do you figure they would ignore a 25 % gain for the sake of a muffler and tail pipe ?

Typically I'm averaging 9-11l/100km. As I have stated in previous posts the set-up is louder than OEM perhaps Lexus choose quiet over improved MPG, based upon their sales demographic

well... i think that explains it.... by virtue of your original numbers you were only getting about 15 mpg. by virtue of your new numbers you are getting 20 at worst and 26 at best... essentially exactly the factory numbers...

so... that would suggest that your original exhaust was badly restricted causing the the really bad original numbers ( about what a 350 hp V-8 gets ) and your new exhaust either returned the total flow back close to std or mitigated whatever else was wrong to start with...

no mystical 25 % increase at all...

on modern efi cars, where toyota would kill their mothers to get an extra 1 mpg, a modification over stock of any sort that gives any meaningful improvement is like the proverbial unicorn...

( in my opinion after 30 years in the car business)
