silver coated amber turn signals for front...light output bad...get led's instead??
I just installed my new silver coated amber turn signals for the front. First thing I noticed was that the silver coating was way too thick. Got them from ebay. I was trying to get that clear look as the stock amber bulbs slightly tint the headlight lens. Anyway, I knew that the light output wasn't going to be as bright as the stock clear amber bulbs but it is just not bright enough. Plus they get way hotter than the stock bulbs. I had a bimmer before and the OEM silver coated amber turn signals were way brighter than these bulbs (probably b/c the silver coating was not as thick and better quality).
My question is, has anyone used led's for the front turn signal? If so, what type (clear led bulb or the one that is flat with a yellow center) (how many led's per bulb)?

sounds like you got some really low quality silver coated amber lights. They are usually really bright. I have them on my nissan-but I bought name brand lights.
If you go with led's make sure you get the one's with resistor in them to counteract the hyper flashing or ones that were made for the RX 350's if anyone makes them.
