Default Kudos to Lexus!!

I see very few stories here about what Lexus got right so I thought I'd post mine. Here it is:

As some of you may know I recently bought a used (non-CPO) 2007 Lexus RX350 with 60,xxx miles on it. I was upgrading from a 230,xxx mile 1997 Honda Accord.

Everything was great at the start but after the first car wash I saw condensation in the headlights and was very disappointed that this happened to my "new" car. So anyway I went back to the dealer and was informed that it would cost $1600 each to replace the headlights.

So what do I do next? Go to Club Lexus ofcourse and research the solution. On the advice of this forum I wrote to Lexus not expecting much.

Boy did Lexus came through, I am happy to report that both headlights were replaced by Lexus completely free of charge. They didnt even charge labor.
So I just wanted to come here and post a little congratulatory note for the awesome service provided by Lexus USA.

So if any of you are hesitant about contacting Lexus, don't be. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

You have been extremely lucky. At 60K, you were above and beyond the normal warranty. But as a "2007," you got a break. If I were you, I would be pissed if they denied the request. A 3 year old Lexus must not have this kind of an issue.

I had the same issue and went through the same process with Lexus coporate and got denied, was just 2 months after my 48th month warranty (mileage was well below 50K). I only wanted 1 headlight replaced.

But fortunately I was able to resolve the leak issue. So with some elbow grease, the consensation is no longer a problem (knock on wood).

Congratulations. Makes you a Lexus believer pretty quick, huh?

Maybe after the recent quality issues, Toyota is trying to be more friendly?

Makes sense. They better. If they have forgotten how they got to # 1, they sure will lose it.

You're a lucky man, they only replaced the driver side, not both sides on my 2004 RX 6 months before the 5 year warranty expires

i got the same thing when i had a battery problem on my 07 rx 350. at that time my 03 gx470 was being service at the dealer and i mentioned it to my service advisor. instead of buying a new one on that day, i got a replacement free instead. kodus i guess to this dealership for a quick response not to mention to the replacement of my cracked dashboard that was done on my gx after calling the lexus corporate about the problem. i know every dealership is different but this one we have here rocks.....

The dealer here is Lawrence Lexus who have always been great.

Indeed I do feel very lucky that they replaced not one but both the headlights which I simply did not expect.

@mandyfig, you are right about it making me a Lexus believer alright. I convinced my sister looking for an entry level sedan to look at the IS when she was looking at the 3-series and she now drive a 2008 IS. In that sense Lexus more than got their money back

I just wonder though if Lexus USA would have been this great if I had bought this from a non-Lexus dealer. Oh well we'll probably never know.
