Default RX330 and 06 RX400H Ipod help

Hello,
I just purchased a 2006 400H for my wife. We love the car.
We went to best buy to get an Isimple installed. After they started the install they said it will not work because I do not have a AM/SAT button. We do have Mark L. stereo.
Does anyone have a rx330 or 06 400h that has a ipod adaopter?
Thanks!

I have a USASpec adapter in my 04 RX330 with ML and no Nav. I'm happy with it. Other options include VaisTech (seems to be the most popular) and Dice.

Not that hard to DIY:

I had the Vais Soundlinq in my '04. The unit was installed underneath the gear shifter, accessible by removing the panels on the side. The connection was in the glove compartment.

Now I tried a few different units - the original Dension unit (aka Dice) which NEVER WORKED and the Harmon Kardon Drive and Play which was ok. I say go with Vais. They have great customer support.

I drive a 2004 Rx 330 and the setup I have for iPod is currently a Parrot mki 9200 (www.parrot.com). This is not the cheapest option out there, but I have to say it works like a dream. My RX does not have the nav/blutooth system, so the parrot setup I have gives me:
-Blutooth option through the speakers
-iPod control with charger (charges your ipod - iphone while playing)
-3.5 line connector
-USB connector
-Blutooth playing (I can actually play songs from my iphone through blutooth)

All these options right through a control box and display. I've had this for more than a year and it works like a charm!

I forgot to add, it does not replace the current in dash 6 disc changer

Here are some pictures of my setup:

The display Hud on the dashboard next to the air vent

The control module of the system. With this little control I can access the menu, and navigate through all the peripherals connected con my Parrot. The module also brings a rubber strap in which you can set it up on the steering wheel (my previous setup)

The microphone setup, on top of the rear view mirror, responsible for the hands free part. It has two microphones, used for noise cancellation.

I forgot to mention, that the blutooth option not only is for video/audio transfer to the speakers, I can also make and recieve calls through my speakers (handsfree).

If you have any other questions, concers, I'd be more than happy to answer them

Oscarorsin,
Super-cool job of installing that MKi...i just got one for my RX-330 and i want to do it just like yours. You have found perfect locations for the HUD, the Remote, and the Mic. Can you please give details about where you ran the wiring and placed the Parrot Blue Brain? And which harness did you use? Remember any difficult issues you solved during the install?
Thanks Again!!!!

Hello Larry,

The wiring that goes through the hud comes from the space between the dashboard and the grey part where the airvent is (between the black and the grey part). It runs all the way down to the centar console (the blue brain is under the center console). The wiring for the remote goes along the same wire that controls the sensor for the rear view mirror then down through the right side of the dashboard and beneath the carpets. The harness i´m not really sure which one is used because the guy who installed the system used one of his, but I guess any harness that goes through the back will work for the parrot. The only difficulty was doing a "clean" job. This means no loose wires around, etc. Also the swivel on the display hud my fall of, so I had to use a double sided 3m tape.

If you have any other questions, let me know!

Oscar
