Default Problem encountered with Mobile 1 oil filters

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem. I purchased two Mobile 1 oil filters M1-102 from the States as they cannot be purchased in Canada. This is the filter Mobile 1 indicated was for my 05 RX330.
So I was at the Toyota dealer today for an oil change. However, to my dismay the Mobile 1 filter would only partially threaded. So the technician tried the other filter, and it did not work either. So at the end of the day a Toyota oil filter was put on.

I send an email to Mobile 1 from the dealership, still waiting for a response.
Any suggestions?

Hmmm, that's disturbing.

I use a larger K&N HP-2009 (the stock one would be the HP-1002) and incidentally, they both will fit your vehicle as well.

For Mobil 1 I also saw an MO241 listed.

Both filters are good but even when I was using Mobil 1 many years ago still found myself using K&N.

May I ask why you are using the larger K&N filter as opposed to the one K&N recommends.
Thanks,
Chris

Here's some shots below.

I wanted better filtration and more flow and since I run Castrol Syntec 0W30 (aka German Castrol) I run 7000 miles (I could run longer), a normal size filter wouldn't have the same flow/filtration at 7000 miles.

I learned of this filter from some Toyota Tacoma owners.

Still can't figure out that Mobil 1 filter issue you had. I'll have to take a look at one of them next time I go to an auto parts store and compare it with a K&N.
