Small flap in front of front tire?

It would seem that aerodynamics would dictate a less severe angle in relations to the wind?

Why don't we ask the Lexus dealer's experts?
I googled it and it did not really show good results.
As far as I know it is for noise. How it works, no clue.
For some of you who are interested, take them off and see if there is a difference.

Definitely about aerodynamics. The lower drag, the better!
Look at the Prius, it has the lowest drag coefficient, 0.26. The Insight has 0.29.

Just imagine potential turbulence that can be created by the tire threads. A deflector slices through the air and deflects it so it does not hit the tire.
