HELP: Rear quarter window glass shattered & replacement help...
The passenger rear quarter window was shattered on my 2004 Lexus RX330 due to the car being broken in to. I need to have the window replaced and I am trying to do it as cheap as possible. I am buying the parts online and I am not sure if I have to buy only the glass window or if I have to buy molding too. What I believe is the molding or liner is still in tact on my vehicle but the window glass is completely shattered. Can anyone please help or give me any advice on what to buy, where to buy & what to do?
From previous experience, when I go into a car repair service center I get lied to about what to buy and taken advantage of. I end up spending money I didn't even need to spend to begin with. I am a single female so I do not have any type of guidance when it comes to cars & repairs. I can't afford to have this happen to me so any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Take it to an automotive glass place. Best place and most reasonable. If hardware is intact, then all you pay for would be the labor and the glass.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Try a place like SafeLite:
https://www.safelite.com/sslPages/service.jsp
You can get an idea of pricing right on their web site.
They will come to you to perform the work. Actually saw their truck at the office yesterday replacing a windshield which had cracked from a stone.
Also, do not hesitate to get quotes from a few places. Never hurts to ask.

Make sure to check with your insurance company - sometimes they have a sep group and policy just for glass that doesn't impact your rates for the claim.
