Default I'm afraid i fried the Nav unit, please help.

I recently purchased a 2010 prius that come with a v9.1 map. thinking the Toyota Map DVD should be the same as Lexus's, i took out the original DVD from prius and placed it in my other vehicle, 2007 RX350. The screen shows "DVD Check In Progress" and blink vertical lines every min or so, over 10min. Anyone had similar experience? How long does the map update process usually take? and anyway to reset the nav unit if the update was interrupted?

I tried put in the old map dvd (v5.1), it won't read anymore. says "invalid" or something like that. Any suggestion? thanks in advance.

have you tried resetting it by unplugging the plugs on the back or taking the fuses out. The DVD should be same as long it is gen 5 DVD. i would just unplug the plug on the back of DVD player for few minutes to get it to reset and it should work
good luck

well, i found the fuse that controls navigation/audio (#23), unplug for a couple minutes and reconnect, now the system seems to be completely down. "A program is unable to run, please consult your dealer" and followed with some Japanese which i don't understand. Looks like a trip to the dealer is in order :-(

Maybe this will help. Check this out: http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...d=203904&all=Y

Click on "View/download installatin instructions" and follow them. I would start with your original disk first.

Whew just came back from dealer. The problem was the new disc. It was for toyota, not lexus. they have different part numbers, even though both are v9.1. the service guy was able to bring up the service menu from the screen, which looks similar to the navigation bypass sequence. i can't tell for sure cuz he was very quick. put the old disc in and the system was back on. thank god. not to mess with it again. less than 30 sec and i would probably be out 60 bucks.
