New Headlamps- Yellow Foggy??
Hello,
I am new to Lexus family and new to this forum. I purchased CPO Lexus RX330 (2005 model). Before the sale itself I noticed lot of condensation on both RH and LH headlamps. However I thought it will go away. In 2 weeks I noticed it's not that easy so I took the RX back to the dealer who said "he replaced the entire headlamp assembly, both RH and LH". However as I was browsing through this forum I also observed that these headlamps not only have condesnsation problem but they become pale in color and look yellow foggy. The newly replaced headlamps on my RX are looking yellow foggy as well. So can I suspect that dealer didn't replace the headlamp at all but rather fooled me.
One reason I suspect is my next door neighbour bought his CPO RX (2004 model) just 2 months back and that RX has headlamps which are visibly shinny compared to my RX (both as purchased and now 'newly replaced' headlamps.
How can I verify the color of really new headlamps. Are they shining silver or yellow foggy silver?
And how can I challenge Dealers claim that he did indeed replaced the headlamps.
NOTE: The dealer sales person observed condesation before sale but kept silent all along. And when I returned in 2 weeks he forced me to show that as new issue and ensured that it is replaced/covered under warranty rather than showing that as a pre-sales issue. He evern told me not to say that it's a pre-sales issue just say 'condensation' and it's covered under warranty.
Thanks,

The sales man is either a)trying to cover his butt because of he kept silent of the issue before sale, b)knows that it won't be covered if you say it was a pre-sale issue, or c)trying to help you get it covered under warranty.
I'm not sure how the warranty is with CPO vehicles. Is it bumper to bumper or limited?
The headlights should be clear with no issues at all. They're clear and shinny. If the dealer really did replace it before purchase, then it should still be covered under some kind of warranty if it's only been a couple of weeks since you bought the car and the headlights are having issues. I'd take it up to management if you don't get any resolution with the parts/warranty folks.
The longer you wait the harder it'll be to claim. Time is not on your side with this one.

Headlights should be clear, obviously your sales person was blowing smoke about the lamps being replaced. Go to the sevice manager or dealer pricipal and tell them about your problem, then call the Lexus CPO hotline, ensure everything is documented. Good Luck

You paid an extra $2k for a CPO. Go get them!
