Roof Rack removal procedure

I want to buy crossbars!!!
Does anyone want to sell your crossbars?
I'm in N.VA, it's 40 miles from DC. I would like to do business locally, because high price for shipping more likely. But all offers will be interested. PM me.
Thanks

I have thought about selling my set. They were replaced by Lexus about a year ago. Hhmmmm.

Lexus Test Driver
I have used the rack a couple of times. Both times left ugly noticeable scratches. My Mom even wanted me to transport Latices once from home depot!! lol! Anyway if I do not get an external roof cargo box I for sure will take this off once I get the body kit on.
Great cheap solution here thanks!

I love how the RX stands w/o the racks. I wish I can get some kits and get it lowered. Ain't happening.

If you look at my post, I recommended that bolts be bought from Home Depot, I gave the actual sizes. You can save some.

This page was awesome, and so helpful. If you reference Kendig's original first post with the part numbers the roof drip covers can be found on this website http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/ i just ordered the parts. Then the bracket and bolt w/ washer can be found here http://www.toyotapartszone.com/

Rack Removal
For me the best looking way is to replace both sides with one-piece strips.
Then the strip is seamless, and looks like a factory installation. Instead of all the different pieces.
The RX with the panoramic roof does not have roof rails. And has the 6 foot long one-piece strips installed.
Part Numbers: LH & RH

Couple of tips on removing the rakck.
The plastic end molding caps just slide off. Foward and aft. You need to use 2 common screwdrivers to remove them. The first needs to lift up the skinny end. So it will go over the plastic base piece. With the second screwdriver. Put the tip between the gap. And spread and push the plastic piece from the rack. And it will slide right off. Take care as the plastic molding scratches easily. If it feels really tight. Adjust the screwdriver that is lifting the piece up over the base plastic piece.
Once the 4 moldings are removed. With a 12 MM socket. Remove the 8 each silver bolts. I lifted the entire section off the car. But if you want to take it apart on the car. There are two small 8 mm screws that stop the cross bars from going all the way back. With the two small screws removed. And the aft plastic molding removed. The cross bars will slide all the way off.

That's the panoramic version plastic inserts. No roof racks.

the 2 back ends of my wrack both broke....it required a lot of force, i tried to just nudge the thing back and forth and it didnt work. also the screws themselves are VERY VERY tight, due probably to the rubber sealing material used on the bolts.
