Please let me know if this will work:

From what I have seen, I can order just the Roof drip Covers (4 pieces, 2 on each side) and 4 brackets (all identical). Then the bolts can be re-used if cut to length and rubber gaskets used.

Lastly how much was the shipping for the items you bought? I am comptemplating on just getting the stuff from my local Lexus unless I am thinking of ordering other supplies from Sewel, like oil filter, air filter, etc..

prices I gave are totals. see sewellpartsonline.com, click catalog quick shop and enter part numbers. note they do not include shipping, you have to start an order to see what that will be. Don't forget to look up Sewell's discount code in the vendor forum. (And even if you can get another dealer to match Sewell's price, please keep in mind that Sewell is a supporter of ClubLexus, and their people took the time to help me identify just which parts were needed. )

Ordered the parts...can not wait until I get them, I will post similar pics, too! Roof rack, say sayonara! But kendig has a good point, anytime you want the rack back...will be easy to do.

What would happen if you didnt use the bracket and just placed the cover over?

You won't have anything to hold the cover onto the car, it'll fly off.

The bracket holds the cover. Or else you can glue it.

Now, why would you do that? The bracket is not expeensive.

how much effort did it require to lift and pry the rack off in the first step?

Not much, just be patient, it will pop out, do not worry about yanking it.

I would recommend covering the rear window spoiler to prevent scratches. The back end cap of the rail (the part to remove to get to the bolts) slides out in that general direction.
