Default rear window moulding for RX 330

Does anyone know of any after market company that makes or sells the window moulding for the rear quarter window on the RX 330 2005 it seems that this a real problem and they just come off, you have to replace the whole window for the small pcs of black shiny plastic moulding on the outside price for the entire window at Lexus is 198.00+tax. It seems ridiculous to change the entire window just because the moulding comes off, it doesnt improve or delete the performance of the vehicle window. I need the moulding because it flew off while driving down the hwy somewhere

I agree and Safelite wanted $388 to replace it! Here is what I did: I cleaned the area with alcohol, put silicone caulk on the window frame and then secured the molding until it held. It worked great. The dealer told me the biggest problem they see is that car washes tend to rip the molding off.

No joke I couldnt find any in a salvage yard...the word is that the day the salvage yards get them they get sold and fixed and resold. They are a car that most of the salvage yards cant keep because of the high resale value even if they are wrecked. I checked at about 15 salvage yaeds in the Otay Mesa area and not one guy had the car. Those guys out there in Otay have lots of vehicles

Have you tried the windshield-glass people? They might have molding which they can use, not original but might work. Try the glass people. Worth a shot.

Try auto body and repair shops, they should be able to order moulding for any car.

When I called the dealer, he said my price was $188, but Safelite was going to charge $388 including installation.

My plan of attack was to purchase the part and then have a glass shop install it; hoping they would charge around $70-$80.

But for me, the silicone is holding fantastic, so I didn't need to do that.

The glass shop will definitely have something to replace it with. Good luck!

Take a picture of this issue and post it, will you?
