Default Cruising Range on 2008 RX 350

When cruising range indicates 0, how much gas is left in gas tank? I drove for over 15 miles when indicated 0 miles left.

thats a gutsy move! those indicators on the info page are never really that accurate (mpg is always off by 1-2, and cruising range is always just an estimate). But this holds true for all vehicles not just lexus. So the answer is, it depends. But my guess is youve got somewhere between 1-2 gallons left, and your sucking in all that nasty stuff on the bottom of your gas tank, and im also told starving an electronically controlled engine by running it out of gas is not good (probably because it confuses some of the onboard systems) and will result in a check engine light.

Since you mentioned fuel, the manual states that when the low fuel light is on, you have at at most 2.9 gallons remaining in the tank.

You are daring. There is always going to be wiggle room with the estimate but I do not recommend going anywhere near zero. Don't forget the computer is constantly adjusting the number as you are accelerating and coasting but it's not a precision number, just an estimate.
