Looking to buy CPO 2007 RX 350 AWD with NAV
Hi everyone, first time poster here.
I am looking for some advice on how to negotiate to buy a CPO 2007 RX350 from a dealer.
Essentially, i want AWD with the premium package and Nav w/ bluetooth with less than 30K miles. Sticker prices on the dealer website seems to be around $33-35K.
I researched KBB values for the cars, prices seem to be $1k to $3k above KBB value. how much should i expect to be paying relative to KBB value?
I would like to know from your previous experiences how much dealers are willing to negotiate on their sticker price, trying to make purchase before the end of the month. i would appreciate any help or guidance. thanks!!!!!
UPDATE: See below thread

Just offer the dealer the KBB price or whatever you think is reasonable ... tell them to take it or you'll go somewhere else. Do that to a few dealerships and I am sure someone will be able to work something out with you. Don't let them know you want the car so badly that you want it before end of the month.

UPDATE: Just got back from the dealership and there is one that is $33,400. it has 37K miles on the clock, aside from two minute dings on the hood and some shopping cart dings on the body side molding it's in decent condition.
how do i start negotiating the price on this? i noticed that buying a cpo/used car is alot more tricky than buying a new car where you can call a bunch of dealers and make them compete against each other. i feel that i should get a better price for the car.
initially when i asked the dealer about price he said "we dont negotiate on CPOs", then we said yeah you guys say that in the brochure, he went back and "spoke to his guys" and they took $500 off the sticker, lol. it was getting late so we left. we plan on coming back thursday to speak to the guy. what should we do next?

I cant believe dealers are holding so firm on their prices, especially in this economy. I guess the market for RX's is just that hot that they can do that. I just think $33K for that vehicle is too high, but if thats the best you can find out there, and you want the piece of mind of CPO, then thats your personal decision. Good luck and post pics!

They want $33, offer $32 out the door. Try it. In any negotiation, for you to succeed, you must be willing to walk away. If you are not, then do not waste your time, buy it and be happy quickly. Luck is a big factor. Good luck. And post pics ASAP.

there were 3 with all same options that i wanted, nav and white.
there was one that had its windshield replaced (with non lexus glass, wtf?) and wheel alignment and it was obvious it was in a front end accident as the drivers side wheel well and fender was all scuffed up and repainted. it had 29K miles with no tires left, and they were selling that for $32K

i'm only happy with purchases that i make when i know i got the best price! I have until the end of the month, next tuesday until the dealer special 2.9% financing runs out. i am not even in a rush to get the car by the end of the month, but it would be nice if i could take advantage of the financing.

yep, according to the carfax it was taken in for alignment around 15k miles. they didnt report an accident but they probably ran a curb or skimmed a tree or something. the window was replaced by lexus dealership when it was traded in, with a non OEM window, wtf is that?

Hi RXTina. I just sent you a private message.
Also, there is a credit union - Pentagon Federal Credit Union - that has 3.99% financing on used cars right now. There are membership requirements (basically military affiliation) but one far down the list is an option to join an association that supports veterans, etc. So you can join an organization with a good cause and get the low financing as well. Maybe that takes a bit of the pressure off for the financing issue for you.

I agree, on Ebay this car would go for 28,500 since it doesn't have a clean Carfax. A 2006 with 44k just went for 20,300 on a no reserve auction out of Boca Ratan,FL. The car was spotless. Advise you go to Ebay and scope out the cars that are available, can't believe in this economy a 2007 could be worth more than 31k TOPS!!
