opinion:New tires
I'm ready to buy new tires for my 06 rx400h. The Good Year tires that came with the car are terrible. The car vibrates once you go over 70MPH. Any recommendation on the new tires????

My RX400h came with the Michelin's from the factory I had no trouble at all with them. I had the dealer replace them with the same tires. I priced tirerack plus a local shop I knew to mount and balance the price was within a few dollars. I also had an alignment done with the tires.

My 400h came with the Michelin's. Good tires. I squeezed about 50K out of them. When I went to replace them I was set to get the Michelin's again.
I ordered ahead and set an appointment but when I got to the tire store I was told that the tires hadn't arrived. The only thing on hand was the Cooper Zeon's. I went ahead and bought them. They were cheaper than the Michelin's. I was warned that they might not get quite as good gas mileage. So far I'm quite pleased. They seem to handle well, I don't notice more noise and I really don't notice any significant drop in MPG. I have about 12K on them and so far the wear factor seems to be good. YRMV.
As has been discussed on this forum before, stay away from the Goodyear's.

I am in the market for new tires and have done a lot of reading on at Discount tire. My 2006 400h has Michelins with 55K on them and I thought about staying with them, but they tend to be a hard rubber compound in order to get high mileage out of them, so handling in cold weather is not as attractive.
I plan on ordering Yokohama Prada Spec X's for mine. I have been through the reviews and they seem to be rated very high by the comsumers and they are less expensive than the Michelin's.

You people must really drive slow! We have the michelins and boy do they squeal when you go around a corner even mildly fast.
I am going with a set of summer tires for sure! BUT....I do live in Florida

Replacement tires
I replaced the Goodyear tires that were original equipment on my 2006 RX400h at 20000 miles with Bridgestone Dueler Alenza tires. I currently have 47000 miles on the car and the tires show no sign of wear. I do routinely rotate the tires front to rear approximately every 5000 miles.

Another Bridgestone Alenza user and I'm happy with them. They are good in deep snow as well and are much better handling than the OEM Goodyears. They hardly show any wear. Pretty darn quiet too.
