Default 2009 RX 350 - 6 hours old - wife opened the rear hatchback manually HELP

What button or swtich is there to make the hatchback work automatically?

Or did she blow a fuse?

Thank you!

Since it is late at night, I will take a wild guess and then make 2 suggestions:

Guess: your master remote key may have a open/close button.

Suggestions:
Check the owners manual ... should find it in first 1/4 -> 1/3.
You have road side assistance ... call the 1-800 number.

I answered my own question. The Valet Button inside the glove box - was pressed by my son fooling around with all the buttons in the new car. Valet Button "Off" - automatic lift gate does not work - except in manual mode.

Ah Ha.

Thank you.

Sure, it's not the end of the world, but I wouldn't want to live like that.
Manually opening doors?
Nobody could get into a supermarket if we had to manually open doors!

I misunderstood the question as .... door stuck open. That can be serious depending upon time and location.

What did people do before all these gadgets? My 1st car had no power window, no power lock, no power steering and no power brakes. Needless to say, it didnt have a power hatch.

In the old days, through the 60's at least, there was one stalk on the steering column: on the left for turn signals. Headlights were usually a **** on the dash that pulled out one stop for "parking lights" and two stops for headlights. Windshield wipers were also controlled by ***** on the dash, which was made of hardened steel.
On the floor, to the left of the brake, was a big silver button that the driver could step on to switch the headlights from regular to high beams (which weren't all that bright anyway), and back again.
And all the windows were raised and lowered with cranks - no motors, except perhaps in Cadillacs (especially the "Sedan de Ville").
Really expensive cars had an AM radio.
And that's the way it was.

And to open the trunk you had to use a key. A latch hidden in the front grill you pulled to open the hood.

Not to mention 460 air conditioning. 4 open windows at 60 MPH.

Yup, And when you did get the hood open to check your oil you would check battery water level and if needed add distilled water...Check transmision fluid too....
