[QUOTE=sail7seas;3943130]Yes, I got it work using the PDF in post #8 above.

Am I reading you post right? According to the ebay ad, you still have to get the key program from a dealer/locksmith. But somehow, you got it to work with the instruction for Toyota451 with just a bunch of closing doors and pushing of buttons. Somehow I can't seems to get a grip on that it could be this easy. Can somebody confirm?

I tried to program my new key. I have to say, it was partially successful to follow the post#8. I can program my new key to all the lock, unlock, and power trunk function. However, it did not program the CPU to recognize the microchip from the new key. Therefore, the key won't start the engine. Nice remote control useless key though.

That's what I thought. A dealer or locksmith has to hook up some sort of programming device to make the computer in our car recognize the new transponder/key. Good info.

I just noticed that you joined CL since last year and you only post twice, wow.

Default replacing 2004 lexus RX330 transponder key

hey everyone, i would like to share my experience with replacing my lost key with remote, i went to the lexus dealership cause i assumed that would be the best place to get it since it would be OEM. My local lexus dealership is in bayridge and they charged me 240 for just the key itself and after you place the order with them you cannot cancel(i tried canceling 10 minutes after i placed the order because i found out i could have it replaced at the dmv instead), On top of the $240 cost of the key there is also labor fee they told me it would take about two hours to reprogram the system to fit the key that i had ordered and labor cost would be 125/hour therefore it would come out to be 250+tax just to reprogram the system. This is absolute b/s because it does NOT take two hours to reprogram the car.The total cost at the Lexus dealership would be around $500. THEREFORE DO NOT go to the lexus dealership or at least dont go to the one in bayridge. I went to my local DMV and they told me i could have a new key and the system reprogrammed for 150 which is less than the price of the key i ordered at lexus itself!! I am waiting for my key to come in they told me it would take 3 days approximately but i decide im going to bring my car somewhere else to get it reprogrammed. my local dmv said they will reprogram the key i ordered for 50 dollars im going to ask around my local locksmiths and if i can find a better price i'll let you know.

I know its all subjective, but i just paid $35 for the lexus dealership to cut and program the key. It was northtown lexus in Buffalo New York. The key i bought for $56 off ebay, seems to be a denso key just doesn't have the lexus emblem on it.

I bought a remote key off Ebay for $58 and the dealer cut the key for $28. So I am now into a new key $86. The Lexus dealer here in Salt Lake will charge me $102 to program the key and the remote. I could not find a locksmith that would do it for less than $100. I have not tried to program the remote but, I do not think the dealer will lower the price if I do.

I am also missing the socket to lower the spare and the lug not socket. Any ideas on getting these parts?

Keep checking on eBay if you have purchased there before and you may get lucky finding just the items you are missing. Usually, you see whole kits from a wreck. You might check with the sellers to see if they have any partial kits containing what you want. Here is an example full setup:
