30% of that could be cleaned up with 3m rubbing compound.
the damage is about $300 worth if only that area is repaired and painted, not the whole door.

Had a similar scratch but on the bumper. Called the Lexus salesman and he gave me the name of the bodyshop they use to repair the lexus vehicles.

Cost to repaint the entire bumper: $150

I had the same thing happened with my Honda CR-V a few years back. Except, the damage was approximately $1800. The insurance people told me to make a police report and fax it back to them and my deductible ($500) would only be $250. With the police report, the claim would be under hit and run or something (can't remember the exact thing) and deductible would be half (250 of 500) and no raise in insurance cost.

Sorry to hear about the damage. Especially the hit and run part.

This is one reason I also park away from other cars. After 4 years I have no door dings so it appears to be working. And I figure I can always use a little more exercise. It's a little more of a hassle when it's raining or snowing but so far has paid off.

You just can't trust other people to take care of their cars like we care for ours.

Default Can't get away from Bad Luck

Besides the usual door ding from time to time even though you try to be careful not to park too close and not double park to pissed off other folks, some bastard keyed my car . This happened way back when I first got my 04 RX330 (First gen of the new body style and weren't many around at the time like now). It just goes to show that bad luck find you no matter what

Any update from the OP? Would like to see how the repair turned out for you and what was involved.
