Default Drivers Side Window

recently, when rolling down the window, there is a click/bump noise about half way through. you can physically feel it in the door armrest too, where the panal bumps a bit. i dont know how else to put it.

its like something is loose and the window is touching it everytime. Yesterday, i checked and the noise is gone/intermittent. however, the window now slows when it reaches the half way part and then speeds back up to normal 3/4s the way down.

a lot of dirt streaks are forming on that window too. any ideas?

i dont really want to do anything about it but it bothers me. im afraid the dealer will have to take apart the door and that may cause more problems

If the car is under warranty, just take it in. Don't worry, they will not make it worse.

no warranty. 2004 with 87000 miles. lol

but im pretty sure they will still fix it for free. me and the service advisor are like this *crosses fingers*

im not afraid they will make the window worse. im afraid they will create a rattle in the door panel

I wouldn't worry about it. Usually they know what they are doing.

I think the risk on creating a door panel rattle is less than if they had to pull the dash. and if the window track is broken or something, you could end up with a worse problem down the road. +1 on having the dealer fix it. soon

I wonder if your rail got missaligned. Only way to tell is to take it apart and see. Let us know.

That's what it is all about! The personal relationship you develop towards your dealer. It is what makes you come back. Granting that some services are reasonably offered free, then you are more likely to part with your $$ on real issues...everybody wins!
