Similar issue with my rx330
Here's my original post.

I can describe the TSB and give you the part number, but I suggest you take it in and ask them to do the TSB.

Hi, I am having the same issue you experienced with my 04 Rx330 I took it to the dealer and they said its the trans line thats making this noise. So since my vehicle is out of warranty lexus proposed that they will be able to cover the cost of the part but not the labor. My question to you since you did this work already how complicated is it to do it by myself? please let me know. thanks
Good luck.

Ok, I might have not done the pics, I will search my files and post.

Here's the part you need to replace. 1st you have to remove the front dam panel, do a search on Air Dam mesh.

Here's the old and new part. The bottom one is the new version. Replace and refill the fluid.

Here's the mess while doing the replacement.

They installed a damper...the washer, isolator....this apparently is the cause of the thumping. They isolated the cooler. The old one was bolted directly to the chassis. Best that I can tell. After I installed this, the thumping was gone. Of course, your car would have been one of the earlier ones made, because this TSB was way back old.

Thanks for the information, since its not that hard i will do this myself rather than paying the dealership a $300 for the labor. Lexus is not willing to cover the cost of the part if the dealer will not install it. So I will probably pay for it myself and do it on my own it will still be cheaper. Thanks for sharing the pictures and the information. My vehicle is an 04 it was assembled in Japan bcz its a JTJ

TSB is #TC002-04
Searched and found 2 different part numbers for the assembly:
------- 1 ---- 32907-40831---Tube S/A oil coo --------2 ----- 90119-06942---bolt W/Washer
And 32907-48030, guessing the 40831 is the proper part. Has anyone clamped the 4 tubes before unbolting the oil cooler assembly?
Will need to do this DIY for January, the thumping is pretty darn annoying.

For those of you having the tranny "thump" on coasting down to 30-20 MPH, here's the DIY on replacing the cooler lines. I did this and it was gone, followed the TSB.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Any other info mandy? Where did you order the part? Having a hard time trying to specifically figure which to order. From what I can tell, clamp hoses, undo part, rebolt. May do this on the next flush.
