Liftgate - Controling Max Open Height of Gate
Hello all,
Brand new RX 400h owner here. Great forum - much learned already.
Question: My garage is a bit low and the liftgate hits the 'rolled back' garage door when fully extended.
I just traded a Cayenne (awful car) but it did allow me to set the max open of the liftgate.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thank you,
Gnarleyspoke

I have the same problem with about half an inch of clearance between the liftgate and the garage door. I haven't heard anything on setting the max open height... unless someone else here knows.

nah, i have a couple of scratches on my lift from the same issue. there was a thread a while back that came up empty. no door limiter that anybody found. i ended up putting foam on the some of the inside garage door hardware where the problem was. looks goofy but effective

Is your garage door going up to the max?
I had this problem and I was able to increase the upward travel of the garage door. Only a few inches but it was enough. You can usually get the door trolley on the opener to get pretty close to the motor unit. There's usually a stopper and you can go all the way to the stopper. Might be worth checking. Good luck.

I don't have that problem, but I would suggest putting some carpet or, as mentioned, some foam, on the area of the garage door that gets hit. Or, of course, you could put a little rubber bumper on the spot on the car that hits it, but that is more likely to fall off.
