Gents,

I love my Lexus a lot but I hate ONE THING about it… That there is no on/off switch for the TSC and VSC, I live in a desert country where we do drive cars on sand dunes and it’s a great hangout and fun!! BUT the RX330 keeps stuck because I cannot turn the TSC or VSC off!

Will anyone please tell me where I can find the fuses for the TSC and VSC and how to disconnect them? Sure I will be bringing all back on when I am back to asphalt.

No clue man. Someone on this forum tried to add that capability to the RX350 by way of plugging the "VSC Off" button into the wiring harness right behind the blank (under the steering column). Unfortunately, it appears that logic is only built into the PCM on the FWD versions, us AWD guys are SOL wrt a "factory-like" implementation.

There may be a fuse you can pull, but depending on the year, it may also disable your awd, as some of the years (not sure which ones) used the VSC to control the torque and send some to the rear wheels.

I dot know if this helps because i've never used it. But there is a button under the dash on the drivers side to turn trac off.

Only on the FWD. That's what I was talking about in my above post when I said adding it to the AWD model didn't work. The TRAC off or VSC off swich is only installed in the FWD, and cannot be made to function in the AWD, even though it's a simple hookup (the cable is already there).

Opps. It is not on my AWD either. I guess after reading the manual too many times it got instilled in my brain...

Thanks guys!! Seems it wont happen!!
I went to sand dunes with it and it was OK but got stuck few times but i could manage!! so i think i cannot turn it off!! What a shame!! hope they will fix that in the new model.
mine is AWD 2004 RX330!! I will have to think about another way!!

To be honest i tend to like the FJ more that this! FJ have a nice function where when u enter sand dunes the car will turn off the TSC automatically!!

If I`m not mistaking,their should be a fuse you can pull to disable it.Check it out and let us know.

I am curious what would happen if you LIGHTLY applied the parking brake when stuck. It should fool the VSC into thinking the rear wheels are grabbing, and therefore allow power to be applied without weird cycling on/off. Also, it will act like a poor man's limited slip differential, albeit only for the rear wheels.
