Trading RX350 for Mercedes C300
#16
To original poster- if driving a chick car has not been bothering you so far then why trade it for an overpriced european garbage? 9 out of 10 people are telling you MB is not the kind of a car that can be trusted with quality these days. For 40 large there are so many nice sporty sedans out there that may be a better value.
Junkxus it is very nice that you had nice experience with MB but look, MB doesnt build quality cars like they did anymore. Please do a bit more research on Lexus vs MB resale values?

when the lease on the 2005 Rx330 is up i will be getting a sportier car. something along the lines of a BMW 335i, audi S5, or infiniti g37S. While, owning this car, driving it has been more boring then i can explain, without getting flamed on by everyone on this board.

Thanks for all you posts...thank you!!!
Final question...How would the New styling 2010 RX350 affect my RX's resale value? If I want to trade, should I act fast before any pictures or info are released about the incoming style?

I totally agree. The only well engineered MB are those pre-90's MB. After that the accountants/marketers took over to the demise of the MB brand.

Although some of the posts in this thread are hilariously wrong (on either side), i would not buy a 1st year Mercedes...hell, i won't buy a 1st year Lexus either! Well, maybe, i would get a LS460 because some dude listen to the engine with a stethoscope...that must mean quality!

Ok, here's the skinny on what to do
Go back to your MB dealer and take another test drive. Find a curvy, hilly road to really get into the sportiness mode. Then, drive straight to the nearest BMW dealer. Don't pass go, don't collect $200 and don't stop for lunch on the way. Hop in any pre-owned 3 or 5 series BMW they have and drive the same road again in the BMW. You will have your answer and know exactly what you want to do before you get back to the dealer's lot.
You can get a CPO'ed 335 which is on par with the last, not the latest, M3 for under $40 or a 525 or multiple versions of the 3 series. If you get a low mileage 2 year old CPO vehicle you will have a 5 years and I believe a 50,000 mile warranty. And, you will never look back. Some even include full maintenance till 50,000.
Just my 2 cents worth but you really need to drive the bimmer before you do anything.

Going from an RX350 to a C300 is like going from well an RX350 to a Camry. The C300 looks nice on the outside but is really cheap looking on the inside. I would look more into the IS350 if you want something sporty. Mercedes was headed downhill with reliablity but I know 5 people who own 2003 or newer Mercedes and have had no problems. One of them has over 100K with just the basics done like oil changes, brakes, etc. Mercedes service is alot pricer than Lexus and yes they sometimes give out loaner cars of other makes. Id stay with Lexus, but only my opinion.
