Default TSB alerts: 2008 RX350

So I noticed that there are TSB alerts on the 2008 RX350, but I don't know what to do with the information:

http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/r...tner=edmunds#1

They make a statement, but don't explain it. Would any of you know what they mean? Thanks.

some of those tsbs are for the dealership to see. if a procedure was changed in doing something, they would be notifed.

some tsbs are there to address faulty problems with the car. this is not a recall but some cars are affected. if you see something on the list that you are experiencing, you can bring it up with your dealer and they can fix it for you under warranty

I see, however what does it mean when they say,
"Vehicle: 2008 Lexus RX 350
Summary:
FLOOR MAT INSTALLATION DURING (PDS) PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10023163 )"

What does that mean? That's not saying anything! A lot of the statements are incomplete. I just don't understand...are they supposed to instill floor mats during pre delivery? is there a problem with floor mat installation? It ain't proper inglish.

lol. i *think* its specifying a certain way for the dealer to prep your car when you buy it.

if you want a better site for tsbs...

http://www.bedlib.org/ebsco.html
click the green auto repair icon
login: lib
password: access
scroll down to Auto Repair Reference Center
and find your car

sadly 2008 cars havent been added yet.however, you can take a look at 2007 models for the closest results

you're just seeing the headline for the TSB from your site. You'll see the 07 in full view if you follow RXSF's instructions. That gives you an idea of the detail the dealer has on the 08 items you found if the blurb makes you think it applies to you.

Default 2007 RX350 TSB's

Just took my RX back to the shop where I had it repaired for a minor accident as I was hearing all kinds of squeaks which seemed to be coming from the dash.

When I took it to Lexus they told me the dash could have "shifted" from the accident, thus, the squeaks, and my best bet is to return it to the body shop as taking apart the dash would take about 10 hrs..

The body shop told me they have seen this before and that he thought it was coming from the headliner but would check it out.

The body shop mgr then printed out (3) TSB's and said if the squeaks are related to the accident he would repair it, but, he felt it was probably related to the TSB's. (see below)

Since my car is no longer under Warranty, I could see this now costing me several hundred to have repaired.

I have only had this car for two months and already I am fed up with it. Too many squeaks and noises for what is supposed to be a luxury car. I get its not brand new, but, unbelievable.

TSB L-TCI-3280-UPPER/LOWER WINDSHIELD TICK NOISE (EST 1 HR LABOR)

TSB L-SB-0074-09-BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM CHECK VALVE RATTLE/BUZZ NOISE (EST .4 HR LABOR)

TSB2278-INSTRUMENT PANEL RATTLE (EST 2.6HR LABOR)

I would take that to the dealer where you bought the car and discuss with them and see if they are willing to pay for it....

Not sure what you want us to say. Were these squeaks and rattles present before the accident? This is probably a case where the dealer and the body shop are going to point at each other and say it is the others fault. Have you talked to your insurance carrier or the carrier who paid for the repair?

As for the list of TSBs, that is not necessarily out of the ordinary. Does not mean the vehicle "will" have these problems, rather, these are just bulletins for the dealers as to what they should be aware of if someone comes in with a particular set of symptoms.

Based on your reactions to what has transpired so far with your RX you may just be better off trading it in on something else you would be happier with as you will probably not be happy going forward even if these problems are addressed.

Update, body shop said he thinks the noises are coming from the headliner but its not a result of the accident.

Spoke to Geico as I told them I disagreed with their assessment and that I was going back to the Lexus dealer. Geico said Lexus would have to prove the noises are a result of the accident and not TSB related. What a surprise.

Spending way too much time on this.
