Rx 350 Tires
Hi I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
I have a 2007 RX350 with 18k and my tires are bad.
I have had them rotated 2x's already.
I did get run into a curb to avoid an accident a year ago when I first got the car and had to get an alignment but Lexus said everything was fine.
I have Michelin's and was told they wear out quickly.
Any one else have problems this quickly with tires?

I had the Michelin MXV4's on my 2005 RX330 Thundercloud in the 18 inch size. They did last me to about 38K, but at 18K they still looked fairly good. The MXV4's are usually warranted for only 25K and I've even seen some advertised with no warranty. So 18K sounds like you should have some tread left. I'm not sure what you mean by "bad". Tread is worn down to the wear bars, doesn't pass the Lincoln penny test or just not as much tread as you thought there should be a 18K, or just not very good traction in snow/ice. I had about 20/25K on my tires last winter and still got around fair. Even running in snow up to 8 to 10 inches one day and not too bad on compacted snow and ice. But when this winter rolled around and I had 38K on the MXV4's I got rid of them at the end of Oct. and switched over to the Bridgestone Alenza. Sure glad I did.

My '05 330 has 36000 miles on it and I just had the tires off for a rotation. I measured the tread and it is between 6/32 and 7/32. Plenty of life left in these Michelins. Of course, this is my wife's car and she drives like a granny. I suspect that I wouldn't get this type of mileage from them if I drove it.

My Eagle RSA's barely lasted 16k miles and had the tread indicators showing, that's with regular pressure checks and rotation. Went with Michelin MXV's slightly oversize, as replacement and so far with about 16k miles they still look new and a darn sight better handling then the Eagle POS's were.

They Are Wearing Evenly Except 1 Is A Little Worse. Maybe It Is Defective. Although We Did Take A Couple Of Long Trips With The Car And This Summer Every Road I Took To Work Was Under Construction At One Time Or Another. Also I Drive "a Little" Fast Or So My Husband Says.

Michelin's may wear out quicker but I'm pretty sure that it has one of the lowest road noise b/c they are softer. My entire family have always used Michelin's when it comes time to replace. You can't go wrong with Michelin's.

I replaced the Michelins with Bridgestone Alenzas at 36K. They weren't completely worn out, but winter was coming and there was less than half the tread remaining. In my opinion, the Bridgestones transform the car, firming up the ride and handling quite a bit. I did find it a bit soft with the Michelins, even overinflating them 2 or 3 PSI.

you guys who have >30K miles are lucky. My wife's 05 rx330 w/ 26k miles needs a new set of tires w/in a month. She could probably still get 1 to 2 K miles. She drives conservatively. Even tire wear.
Will probably go w/ Michelins next time but it's gonna be costly.
