Default Difference between Lexus and Toyota Oil and Filter Change

Today, I took my RX330 to Oil and Filter change at a local Toyota dealership. They said they put Toyota's semi-synthetic oil and they stated 5 qts. I know some people here says that it needs more than 5 qts, if so, how much qts of oil does RX330 need?

Also they replaced the oil filter with Toyota's brand oil filter (90915-YZZG1) Made in USA. Is it okay?

They also checked everything inside (including battery, filters, etc). + washed the car.

All of these cost me $32 vs. if I were to take to Lexus, it'll cost me ~$60.

But what procedures does the Lexus dealer do when you take your car to the service for oil/filter change vs. above Toyota service?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Nothing different. Just paying extra for the "L." And you get Starbucks coffee, free.

Default Toyota Oil Change

I just had my first oil change in my 350. Using Mobil One. Lexus Of Riverside wanted 160.00. I paid the local Toyota dealer 71.00.

I use to take my RX300 to Walmart. And they would charge 45.00. I tried to take it there this time. But they didnt have the filter for a 350.

My last oil change & factory filter from a Lexus dealer cost me $37.95. This incuded all fluid checks. They don't all gouge I guess.

$38 is not bad at all for a Lexus dealer. How come they vary a lot? Tells you some dealers are ready to gouge you every chance they get.

If Lexus dealership was only $38, then I would think it's not bad.. but $60 is too much for just oil change.

You guys are lucky - the Toyota dealerships in Toronto won't do an oil change on a Lexus.

If the Lexus dealers were even in the same ballpark for service charges, I think a lot of us would prefer to get services done at the dealerships. However, I am not willing to spend $150 for an oil change and tire rotation even with the "free" wash and loaner.

Unless something has changed fairly recently, conventional oil is used at the dealers in Denver and Colorado Springs, unless you specify synthetic.

If you specify synthetic oil, do Lexus dealership charge extra?
