Default Front bumper already "dinged"

Less than 900 mile and already have 2 scathes on the front bumper (flint mica) one cut to the primer half inch long .Think I might get them to fix and add the 3 M to the bumper. Can the 3M be removed after time to replace?

Ouch - sorry to hear that. The 3M film can be removed/replaced. Probably goes without saying, but the installation job is where the value comes in with the 3M film. Make sure it's done well, and it'll be easily removed by a pro.

I feel your pain. Mine was purchased in late October of last year and I have about 4500 miles on it, a few months ago on a trip to the grocery store I noticed that I have 3 deep scratches on the back end, right above and inside the "L" emblem. I have no idea when or how they got there. I also have 2 small door dings and I am very careful where I park. Even so, It's impossible to control it all I guess.

A side note, I also have Flint Mica, and while I think it's BEAUTIFUL, I question if it was the best choice in my rainy climate.

Why isn't it worth it to remove the film? I know a number of folks who've done this. It's not cheap to remove & reapply, but if you really want your car to look it's best it's certainly less expensive than repainting the front clip.

Any dark color - even one with heavy metallic content like Flint Mica - will show scratches and swirls more readily than a lighter color. We all get scratches and dings...there's no way to avoid them in a daily driver.

I guess if I get a quality install they should be able to repair the chips in the bumper? The bumper is some type of rubber so I am not sure how they would do it. The dealer will install the 3M , but I am going to talk with the shop that does it their just to get a feel of who will be doing it.

3M can be easily removed by a pro. It's a must have mod when you live in Washington and drive so much.

Here's one that will hopefully make you feel better....from the department of misery loves company, if nothing else.

I am ridiculously ****-retentive and even more obsessive about taking care of my vehicles. On this one I had a strip of 3M film added to my package - all along the rear bumper, just below the pad. So, in loading up for a gig last week, the sax player riding with me bangs his music case against the bumper....less than 3" away from the protective film. Small ding and a nasty through-the-clear scratch. *&$##(@)$*&%%!! I know it's just a material thing, but darnit...I don't even have license plates yet.
