Default Wife found curb with rim

My wife hit the curb and caused some damage to the rim. I want to repair the rim but was unsure of what kind/brand paint to use to refinish the curbed portion of the rim...does anyone have any idea? Wurth makes a wheel paint but seems that it was made for some German cars, I don't think their paint matches my OEM 18" rim.

Go to Wallyworld, get the Toyota Silver paint touch up, it matches pretty close. I have used it and you can not even tell the painted curb rash. Good luck. It is is pretty rough, you might need to use fine sandpaper to even it out before painting. Paint 2 coats.

OK what is Wallyworld?

To properly repair your curb rashed rims, try this:

Admit it, you hit the curb and now try to blame it on your wife.

If you have a full sized spare you can put it on and work on the rim off the car which is much easier. Then just put the repaired rim in the spare holder once it is repaired. This will give it time to cure with no exposure.

Might be interesting to see a photo of the rim. My uncle has painted rims before and he might be able to give you a better idea of what is needed if he sees the damage from a photo.

You can do a ten-foot job on this, or a two-foot job. Meaning, how far away you'll be when you notice the repair. I'd recommend looking up some wheel repair shops in your area. Depending on the extent of the damage, you might even get this done for $75, which includes repair, paint, and dis and re-mounting the tire on the wheel.

Good luck...
