To each his own. Some people like Lexus and that is enough reson for them to spend extra $$. We all need to learn to appreciate each other's prerogative. My next sedan will be a Lexus. I am done with Acura.

Yeah I am done with Acuras too, and I am not ready to try a Hyundai just yet.

Like they say, why settle for the copycat, when you can get the real thing?

Yeah, its tough to be at the top, where everybody is gunning for you. Its easier to get to the top than to stay there, Lexus will find this out in the next few years.

TO me, the article flatters the RX as it is acknowledging it is the leader in its segment and Hyundai basically tried their best to make their verision of a RX.

I find some of these comparos very entertaining to read b/c you do have people who will say "I have so and so for less and its almost on par with this luxury car".

Hyundai continues to do a good job with new prodcuts. Hell the Kia Sorento knocked off the first gen RX and now this knocks off the 2nd gen RX.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

IMO, what the article is saying is you can get an almost Lexus for a good price with comparable features. Some people don't care about real wood, perfect fit and finish, top dealer service, great paint etc.

Value dictates their purchase.

The Hyundai is a great value, the Lexus is a GREAT SUV. Big difference

Kudos to Hyundai for stepping their game up.

The pack is trying their hardest to get close. Bet you Toyota is cooking something up. That's what research money does for you...be ahead of the pack all the time.

well as i mentioned, this 2007 Veracruz is close to the 2004 RX series. Wait until next year when the 2009 RX comes out. Im sure it will be ahead of its class once again

This is also like that other thread on this board “MDX vs. RX". IMO, I would rather have something that is reliable than a car that is full of gadgets.

I will never buy a Hyundai...never...they came to the US with the worst cars ever and managed to barely make it selling $5000 vehicles to people that only needed basic, cheap, unreliable, throw-away cars (oh but it's a new car! pfft). My 93 LS owns a new Hyundai's face in.

Hyundai are using Toyota/Lexus designed parts from its suppliers.

Lets see how their cars are when the no longer have this option

sad that hyundai still hasnt shaken that budget car stigma from the early 90's. or are people just set in\ their beliefs even if they really dont make much sense?

Maybe they should have built better cars to begin with. It will take decades for them to shed that image. Even when their ratings are good as they have been of late, many will look at them and go, "eh...I dunno...their cars were really the worst...now they are good all of the sudden? I think I will just buy a Toyota, thanks."

They should change their name too, it's terrible and not really a friendly sounding name to the US market. Most people probably can't even spell it. :P

Wink

While Hyundai's are not bad for the money, they are not in the same class as Lexus, Mercedes etc.

I hate to be pedantic but can we change the name of the thread to " RX loses car comparo to Hyundai Veracruz" = there is only one o in lose
