Here's my second pic of the black mesh protection. I anchored the mesh at the top and bottom at each of the supports with black nylon cable ties. It may be overkill but I'm about to leave on a 6000 mile trip to Seattle and back to Ohio, via Yellowstone etc. In viewing the mesh from a standing position, it looks like an original factory install. An install the factory SHOULD have done.

Yup, the black is certainly better than the AL finish that I have....

Alright...I finally was able to do it. Here's a pic. I put 2 layers of primer then 4 layers of glossy paint. What you all think?

By they way...credit goes to Mandyfig! ;-)

The longest the mesh will come is 36". You need to buy 2.

The mesh area is not related to anything that needs to be taken out. Once installed, no need to worry about it.

I still have to re-do mine, I want it painted! The aluminum will darken and fade after sometime, hence the painted version is better. I will use chrome paint!!!!
