Has any of you ever used Octane Boosters?
I've red some forums about it and I think I'm gonna try.
OK first I'll check in the manual.

I would also apreciate any comment from you.

One bottle (16oz.) of the 'Turbo 108 Octane Boost' can change the 91 to 98 octane ...and that means a better performance!
They also say that it is safe for the engine and it should not harm catalytic converters.

umm...go for it? i dont think it would harm the engine, seeing how everything i read in small print says, "performance figures are for comparisons only, and should not be repeated. Performance will only be achieved with 91 octane OR HIGHER" i think you should be fine. tell us if you have any noticable difference.

With any motor, the more spark and fire created in the engine, there is potential for damaging it in the long run. It is kind of like using spark plugs that promise better mileage, like the splitfire plugs. They sound great, and offer to burn more of the gas that enters the chamber but increasing the fire increases the heat. Japanese engines especially are designed to run at the temp that is designed by the factory that is one reason Toyota has gradually increased the plugs they use from platinum to now the iridium plugs. They are supposed to offer better mileage and performance and have been tested that way. I am sure there are many people who have other opinions on running hotter, burning gas more efficiently, and engines built for racing run on higher octane, but those race engines aren't designed to run for 15 plus thousand miles a year either.

I have tried a lot of octane boosters down here, including racing gas (unleaded). At best, you will be lucky to make .1 faster in the 1/4 mile, normally .05 or nothing, as to gain full advantage the timing needs to be advanced.

You can try it and it won't do any harm. I have even ran the stuff on less than 1/8 tank with 2 bottles of that Holley NOS stuff.

And why would you think you get better performance from 98 vs 91 octane???

91 Octane is what the engine is designed for. So at 91 octane, with the spark advance set at the optimum design point, there is no knocking. At 98 octane, you would still have no knocking, but would not be able to advance the spark setting any more, so no more horsepower, nada, zilch, bupkiss.

If you put lower octane inthe car, and its started to knock, the spark would retard to eliminate the knocking, killing some horespower. So you do get better performance for the octane it was designed for, 91, vs cheaper gas.
