Default Wide arm rests pretty good?

I read here that there's the wider arm rests available from jjproducts. Have any of you tried it on the rx350? Is it at the exact height level as the original? Does the leather really match in texture and color? And is it pretty cushy? I'm thinking of getting it, 160 doesn't seem that much for a 40k car if it works good.

I just ordered one on friday. I will let you know when I get it in.

I am a big guy, and the stock armrest was a joke. It was easier for me to use the arm rest on the passenger seat!

I've had one for a while, and it is a spectacular improvement and well worth the money. The color matches perfectly and it looks like a factory installed job.

You will need a socket set (with an extender piece) to install it, as you will have to tighten a bolt into the side of the driver's seat by going through the width of the armrest, but everybody has a socket set.

The only change you may notice is that you have to raise the new armrest to get into the center storage box because the new armrest takes up all the open space between the skinny standard armrests, but I find this a small inconvenience.

It looks like this (with the passenger seat tilted back for a better view):

That sure looks sweet. Is it as soft as the original one?

Anyways, I think I'm gonna get it, thx.

is it really that bad to have those small armrests...?

i admit im not a big guy, but i find it just right to rest my arm on when driving. my arm just makes an X with the armrest. Works great for me, but im japanese, and the car was designed by my people...

p.s. the color doesnt seem to match that perfectly in the picture, might be the light

Yes!

If you have long arms, the arm rest is way too close to the seat. It needs to be spaced further out.

If you have heavy arms, the thin width digs into your arm, and is very uncomfortable after 10 minutes.

Yes. There is a link and it is readily available by searching "armrests" on this forum for an extended discussion -- or a simple Google "RX 330 wide armrest" search would return, as the first hit, the correct web page.

No need to ask us at all.

Yeah, I was using the passenger arm rest too. But when you go around a corner the car thinks someone is in the passenger seat and the airbag sensors start blinking at you!

I just installed the new armrest. Boy is it nice! Took a few minutes to install. The color is an exact match to my leather interior. It is sooooo comfy. It does sit around 1" lower than the passenger arm rest, but that is ok for me as the original arm rest was way too high. It pretty much takes up all the room between your seat and the passenger arm rest, maybe 1" gap left over.

I highly recommend it.

My car never thinks anything of the sort and we've gone around many a corner in the 900 miles we've been riding together.

I must have a really sensitive seat. The extra G's around a corner and my arm weight was tripping off the sensors.

When I get it on Friday, I will post pictures. I have the Black interior.
Biff, do you remove the passenger side also?
