What difference does it make in terms of parts? The parts are the same for models manufactured in both locations, aren't they?

Mine was made in Canada. I don't know where the sound is coming from. I can't get it to repeat when I take it to the dealer. . . go figure. I thought it was coming from under the drivers seat. My husband went so far as to ride in the back seat on the floor, while I was driving, trying to detect the sound.

Do you know what it is and how to get rid of it? It is driving me crazy!

I don't think so. There are many name brands that once lived up to their standards from where they are made. Now, all of those are shipped oversea to third world country to build and the quality are craps. The Japanese know that if they don't do good job of assemblies all of them will be out of the job because consumers will demand products elsewhere. Just like all or most of you here.

I will be buying a new RX350 very soon. I definitely want one made in Japan. My question is when trying to get a great price, besides giving the salesman the options I want and that I want it Japan made, should I be specific on the interior/exterior color too or wait on mentioning colors until we come up w/ a price. I'm looking for a bamboo pearl w/ light grey interior made in Japan, no nav, FWD, heated front seats. I'm afraid if I'm too specific in the beginning they'll won't be as flexible on the price haggling. I'm not waivering on the Japan thing and really don't want to waiver on the colors. Just afraid if I'm too specific and not flexible they won't be either. There will also be a trade-in (not Lexus) but won't bring that up until price is determined. Thoughts???

You guys are all paranoid. Canada built RX's are made just as well as the Japan versions.

If you don't know, check your VIN plate on the lower drivers side door pillar...the location of manufacture either Japan or Canada...or you can simply check your vin...if it starts with a J, it's Japan, 2 is Canada.
My 2004 Bamboo color RX330 was made in Japan.

Mine's from Cambridge, Ontario. I've had the opportunity to tour the plant and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another built in Canada. I've spent a fair amount of time inspecting both the Canadian built and Japanese built units and the only difference I can see is in the VIN.

Smile RX birthplace

Anyone know how many (in %) RXs coming from Japan and Canada? Someone said he has to wait 3 months for one which made in Japan. I thought Lexus was already shifted the RX production in Canada for North America markets, excpet RX400h.

I was just told that....

All RX with NAV/ML/DVD are from Japan!
All RX without are from Canada!
Is this true??

I'm in search for RX made in Japan, too. I can't seem to find one in color I want...
